Forty nine years ago today March 25, 1968 we started landing the five 105's and digging in on Firebase 14. Little did we realize what terror was just ahead for us early the next morning... the 26th. We all would be fighting for our lives. It was 8 long days up there. I remember many of the faces and some of the names in the posted 3/8 photos. I remember Leland "Smitty" Smith, LTC Malone, etc. Give thanks to God for all these extra years.

It has been 48 years ago that so many young men lost their lives for all of us and our country. I will never forget them or that day! I pray that all of my
brothers are well and hope to see you at our reunions.

I have decided to try to fill in some of the blanks from my service. If anyone can help me out it would be appreciated.

Before being transferred to Recon after the Battle of Dak To I believe I was the Medic for the Battalion’s Engineering Platoon from July – Nov, 1967. We were more less permanently located at some base camp where it seemed that our only mission was sweeping a road for mines between our camp and a Green Beret base each morning. In four months, I do not believe we found one mine or even were in a threatening situation.

Though the patrol personnel changed daily I had to go out each morning. Fortunately we always had a vehicle with us and I was able to ride both ways 

Does anyone have any information on where we were based or any other information that would help me fill in the gap.

I recall almost every moment after I was transferred but that period is just a haze of smoke, if you all understand what I mean.

Thanks in advance.

A Lady made a post on a Nam FB Page asking for info on a certain boy she gave a name and said that he was stationed at Camp Enari from 11/1966-1967. His unit didn't strike a bell with me being in B/?8th from 12/2/65 - 11/20/1967. She gave the unit as being in the 14th Inf. knew for a fact that the 3 Infantry's that made up the 4th ID were the 8th, 12th and 22nd. I knew she either was wrong of correct on her ID. It started me to thinking about all of the skuttle buzz over our trade off between our 3rd Brigade trade off with the 25th Infantry Division. Could she have been correct or mistaken with her 14th Infartry name?
