I was flying the helicopter on the night of Nov 11th. As I recall I was asked if I could get a load of chain saws into you guys so you could cut an landing area for us to extract wounded. We finally did and performed extractions all night long taking the wounded to Dak To. I flew until 1400 hours the next day. I will never forget that night as I know you won't either.

I have personally been exposed to and affected by the Vietnam war in some capacity over the last 35 years, as the proud son of veteran Byron Kinnan, D/3/8, 67-68. I must admit for the majority of this time my attitude towards my father was judgemental and lacked any empathy for what he experienced in 'Nam and the impact it had on my family. Now that I am a veteran, and in no way will I ever comprehend or fathom the atrocities faced by those in 'Nam, I have taken the initiative to learn more about the history and what your 'brothers' faced. Thank you for giving my father and his 'brothers' this opportunity to reconnect and provide an outlet for them to achieve some sense of closure. I can honestly say your organization has helped my father and I strengthen our relationship by allowing me the opportunity to try and understand the atrocities experienced by everyone who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

On my 5/26/67 post, the date of those killed should have been May 26, 1967 not the 23rd.

I was an artillery FO attached to the 3/8 from November 1969 through the incursion into Cambodia in May 1970. Served under Captain's Hunt, Mincey, & Boudreaux during that period of time before moving back to base camp in An Khe. There was a Lt. Blue in that company that I would like to send a picture to, if someone can supply me his mailing or email address

How do I find out if my father Charles Taylor from Gatesville Texas was in the 4th Infantry in Vietnam? I have his uniform and tracked this site down by the patches. If you have any information please email me at courtney199@yahoo.com. I am his only daughter.
