PETER I AM GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU WERE FRIENDS WITH AL. OF ALL OF THOSE WE LOST I THINK AL HAUNTS ME MORE THAN ALL. AL WAS A GOOD MAN VERY QUIT AND UNASUMING, HE NEVER ARGUED ABOUT ANYTHING NOR DID HE MIND DOING WHATEVER WAS ASKED OF HIM. THERE WAS NEVER ANY QUESTION THAT IF HE TOLD YOU SOMETHING IT WAS TRUE TO THE BEST OF HIS KNOWLEDGE. IT WAS A HONOR TO HAVE SERVED WITH HIM. AND TO REMEMBER THE SHAPNEL THAT HIT HIS NECK AND KNOWING THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD IS HARSD.

OK guys, I just posted the photos of Ranger and his canteen snake. Go to the Links page on this site, go to my Shutterfly site and make your way to "Tray 11 Feb. 69" Haven't figured out how my Jazz Band photo made it into this years 4th ID calendar for January.

First of all John welcome home.
Ranger was a very good officer
and friend to us all. Last time I spoke
with and saw Ranger was at Ft. Benning
Ga. Dec. /Jan70 at which time he was Capt.
Graham also spoke with and saw
Jimmy Hearns. John will send you a
pic of Ranger via your E-mail.

Peter,
I remember an LT who would catch bamboo vipers and carry them in an empty canteen. Don't remember his name.

Jerry,
I looked at John's picture you asked about, and sitting on the left with the mustache is Tom Howard, if I remember his name right. I think Ed Skwira made contact with him a few years ago.

Ed Sqwira thanks for responding to my post. yes I do remember you very well. it was you that I remember leaning on as someone who was there when I got there and I felt had seen enough and knew how to survive, and that was someone I wanted to learn from. It would seem that I was right, we both made it. It has been a long time and I have only recently began to open up and let some stuff both in and out. to few names I remember and that saddens me for they all deserve better, mostly those who didn't make it. For your time and help I will always be grateful. I tried and can only hope that I was able to pass that knowledge on and help some others make it, God bless you , and welcome home brother
